Dry Pasta. Cooked Pasta. Measuring. Help!?

Is it true any uncooked amount of pasta, is double that amount when cooked?
EXAMPLE: 1/2 cup dry pasta = 1 cup cooked pasta?

Would the calorie count stay the same?
EXAMPLE:
1/2 cup dry pasta = 200 calories
so,
1 cup cooked pasta = 200 calories
&
1/2 cup cooked pasta = 100 calories..

????

What is the best method of measuring out uncooked pasta to only get the 2 oz serving size?
Dry measuring cup? Liquid measuring cup?

I don't have a food scale...
Okay.
I have pasta that the serving size is 2oz for 210 calories.
So,
when cooked it will be approx. 4oz of pasta and still be 210 calories for all 4 oz?
If I ate just 2oz of the 4oz of cooked pasta would the calorie count be 105[half of 210]?

It is true that adding water almost doubles the amount. As water has no calories the pasta would have the same amount of calories wet or dry.

I'm curious to the type of pasta you are choosing. Cooked elbow macaroni has 174 calories per cup, spaghetti, the same. Four ounces, without sauce would be about 87 calories. Whole Wheat Fettuccine is 189 cooked per cup. Which would be about 95 calories for four ounces.

Three cheese Tortellini, on the other hand, is 320 calories per cup, making it 160 calories for four ounces.

Two ounce serving size? Two ounces cooked or 2 ounces dry? For two ounces cooked you would have to have 1 ounce dry, in which case it would be hard to measure in a dry measuring cup as they only start at 1/3 cup and 1/4 cup. If it is not spaghetti, just pour it into a dry measuring cup and eyeball it from the 2 oz mark.

If it is 2 oz dry and 4 oz cooked, then it is a quarter cup. The 2 oz dry pasta will absorb water to be 4 oz cooked and drained.

Since I read 210 calories, it is either a pasta not previously mentioned or the sauce makes up the rest of the calorie count.
