Can you pop popcorn in a hot air popper from a microwave bag?

All I have is a microwave bag with popcorn in it but we have no micorwave, it broke down. So can I open the bag and put the kernals in my hot air popper so it can pop the kernals? It has that cheesy stuff or butter with it, so I don't know?
