A) A Moosewood book that has mostly soups I think it is called "Daily Special" (I also love the book "Real Stew", Wright, although the recipes take a tremendous amount of effort, the are incredible, especially the beef bourguignon).
B) "The Way to Cook", Julia Child
C) "The New Basics", Lukins & Rosso
D) "Comfort Foods", Martha Stewart
E) "The Way to Cook", there are so many examples of how to make the basics (master recipes), and what to do to embellish them. She really teaches how to cook, rather than just supplying recipes.
